A special discussion on providing relief to the people of the Kandy District who were affected by the severe cyclone was held yesterday afternoon (22) at the Kandy District Secretariat.
On this occasion, in accordance with the guidance and admonition of the Vice-Chancellor of Nāgānanda Buddhist University, Venerable Dr. Bodagama Chandima Thera, a delegation led by the Vice-Chancellor’s Coordinator of Nāgānanda International Buddhist University, Lecturer Venerable Sooriyawewa Sumedha Thera, participated in the discussion.
Representing the Chairman of the Kandy District Development Committee, Hon. Minister K.D. Lalkantha, Member of Parliament Hon. Thanura Dissanayake attended the meeting, along with the Kandy District Secretary Mr. Indika Uduwatta and a group of government officials.
දිට්වා සුළිකුණාටුව හේතුවෙන් විපතට පත් මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික්කයේ ජනතාවට සහන සැලසීම පිළිබඳ විශේෂ සාකච්ඡාවක් මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේදී ඊයේ දින පස්වරුවේ (22) පැවැත්විණි. මෙම අවස්ථාවට අපගේ අනුශාසනා පරිදි නාගානන්ද ජාත්යන්තර බෞද්ධ විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ උපකුලපති සම්බන්ධීකාරක, කථිකාචාර්ය සූරියවැව සුමේධ හිමියන් ප්රමුඛ නියෝජිත කණ්ඩායමක් සහභාගීවූ අතර එම අවස්ථාවට මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික් සංවර්ධන කමිටුවේ සභාපති අමාත්ය කේ.ඩී ලාල්කාන්ත මැතිතුමා වෙනුවෙන් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රී තනුර දිසානායක මැතිතුමා සහ මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ඉන්දික උඩවත්ත මහතා ඇතුළු නිලධාරී කණ්ඩායමක් සහභාගීවිය.
