We celebrated the Vesak Festival, commemorating the Triple Blessed Events of the Buddha at the Taipei Theravāda Samādhi Educational Institute. Devotees and members of the Maha Sangha participated in the celebration, which was conducted in a manner that reflected and preserved the cultural identity of this country.

The Imbulgoda Nāgānanda Meditation Center Reopens.

The Ihalayagoda Imbulgoda Meditation Center, affiliated with the Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies and dedicated to conducting meditation training programs, has now resumed its activities following renovation and restoration work. Our Buddha Śrāvikās visited the center and spent time there engaging in religious observances and enjoying a period of rest and mental relaxation.

මෙම හමුව තුළ දී දෙපාර්ශවයම පොදු අගයන් හා සම්ප්‍රදායන් අවධාරණය කරමින්, ආධ්‍යාත්මික හා අධ්‍යාපනික සම්බන්ධතා තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීම සඳහා ඇති කැපවීම ඉතා පැහැදිලිව ඉස්මතු කරන ලදී. එමෙන්ම, අනාගතයේදී මෙම සහයෝගිතාවය වර්ධනය කරමින් දෙපාර්ශවයටම ප්‍රයෝජනවත් වන ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගෙන යාම පිළිබඳ එකඟතාවයකට ද පැමිණියහ.

On April 24, 2026, Venerable Ajahn Brahmali Thero met with Venerable Dr. Bodagama Chandima Nayaka Thero at the NIIBS University Institution, where they exchanged views on Buddhism, spiritual development and academic collaboration.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized their shared values and traditions, clearly expressing their commitment to further strengthening spiritual and educational relations. They also reached an agreement to continue developing this collaboration in the future through mutually beneficial initiatives and activities.

Venerable Ajahn Brahmali Thero is currently conducting a residential meditation training program at the Nāgānanda Institute these days.

A special discussion was held on 2026.04.28 with the participation of officials from the Presidential Secretariat and Secretaries of Ministries regarding the organizational activities and planning related to the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the World Buddhist Sangha Council, scheduled to be held in November 2026, as well as the official opening of Nāgānanda University.

Joining us for this occasion were Chief Secretary Most Venerable Maitipe Wimalasara Nayaka Thero, Vice President Venerable Dr. Akuratiye Nanda Nayaka Thero, along with members of the Maha Sangha.

The Bodagama Chandima Nayaka Thero Scholarship Foundation has awarded full scholarships to Bhikkhunīs pursuing a degree in Buddhist Studies. Today, we provided them with the funds to cover the cost of their air tickets. The purpose of this initiative is to nurture learned Bhikkhunīs who will contribute to the propagation of the Buddha Dhamma throughout the world.

An almsgiving merit-offering ceremony was held yesterday (2026.04.09) at the Manelwatta Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies, with the participation of the fourfold community, to transfer merit to our mother, Heennona Liyanarachchi.

These Tripitaka volumes, which were reprinted by the Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies, were offered in response to a request made by Venerable Udaeeriyagama Dhammajiva Thero.
